FAQ
IS PAT TESTING REQUIRED BY LAW?

Although Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is not a legal requirement, it provides important protection in the event of an incident, such as a fire. Many business owners may not be fully aware of the terms within their insurance policies; however, a significant number of insurers do require electrical equipment to be PAT tested as a condition of cover.

It is essential to safeguard your business against potential claims from customers or employees. In the event of legal action arising from injury or damage caused by electrical equipment, having documented evidence that you have taken all reasonable steps to ensure safety can be invaluable. Demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining safe equipment helps protect not only your business, but also your clients, visitors, and staff.
